Genetic Counseling
Genetic counselors are healthcare professionals who help patients make decisions about their genetic health, assist them in understanding how inherited conditions might affect them or their families, facilitate the decision of whether or not to pursue genetic testing, and help coordinate and interpret results of genetic testing. The field of genetic counseling is constantly evolving, and genetic counselors may also work in research capacities, helping advance care for genetic conditions, or in laboratory settings, helping develop and implement state-of-the-art genetic testing.
