Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant
Anesthesiologist assistants (AAs) work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist as members of an Anesthesia Care Team, in order to provide the safest care possible for patients needing anesthesia. They are highly trained professionals who have completed both a premedical curriculum as undergraduates and a master’s of science degree in anesthesiology. Furthermore, they must successfully pass the Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants administered by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
